"A sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path...on rocky ground...among thorns...But some fell on rich soil and produced fruit, a hundred or sixty or thirty fold." (Matthew 13:3-9)

The mission of the Vocation Office of the Diocese of Marquette is to promote all Church vocations, particularly the diocesan priesthood. The heart of promotion is to pray and trust in God's guidance, to invite and challenge men and women to reflect on their baptism and to pray about and consider the possibility of God's call to service and ministry, and to discern the personal responses to that call. In regard to the diocesan priesthood, promotion means to encourage, support, and assist in the formation of our seminarians, in the areas of human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral development as they discern and prepare for the priesthood. The aim is to have holy, healthy, and effective priests who will proclaim the Word, celebrate the Eucharist and sacraments well, point to the mystery of God, and walk with people during the most significant times of their lives of faith.
