CATECHETICAL SUNDAY RESOURCES
This year, the Church will celebrate Catechetical Sunday on September 15, 2019. The 2019 theme will be "Stay With Us." Those who the Community has designated to serve as catechists will be called forth to be commissioned for their ministry. Catechetical Sunday is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the role that each person plays, by virtue of Baptism, in handing on the faith and being a witness to the Gospel. Catechetical Sunday is an opportunity for all to rededicate themselves to this mission as a community of faith.
The USCCB offers several resources to assist parishes as they acknowledge their catechists and families in this important ministry in the Church. Both the downloadable and those for purchase can be found at http://www.usccb.org/beliefs-and-teachings/how-we-teach/catechesis/catechetical-sunday/index.cfm.
The 2019 Evangelization Summit is an opportunity to gather with other Catholics who are committed and excited to share the Good News of Jesus Christ! This two-day gathering will feature two keynote speakers, break-out sessions, interactive workshops, Praise & Worship music, Eucharistic Adoration, and Mass with Bishop John Doerfler. For an overview of topics see Addendum #3

- St. Joseph Parish in Lake Linden received funding to purchase technology for religious education classroom. “My students range in age from 5-8, with quite varied ability and reading levels. With the enhanced technology of a Smart TV and DVD player the students were able to be more focused on their lessons. And because of this equipment the next generation of Catholics can be educated and ready to be a missionary for Him.”
