November 2022
Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
Welcome to our Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Marquette.
Each year, we survey our parents asking them what they like most about their children’s school. The themes that are reflected in response to that question can be summarized in the following responses: caring and competent teachers, values that support our values at home, Catholic atmosphere rooted in relationship with Jesus, smaller class size, and caring nurturing family relationships throughout the school community.
This partnership of shared values between home and school continues to bear fruit by enrollment increases in eight of our nine schools this year. The aggregate increase in student population across all nine of our schools is over 11 percent in the last three years. Congratulations to all our schools’ staffs who generously work and strive to be in partnership with our families to build such amazingly productive school cultures.
School cultures as rich as these are not built only by competence, commitment, teamwork and sacrifice. They need grace. We truly succeed the more we all personally trust and are friends with Jesus Christ. The core of our purpose in Catholic education is the person of Jesus Christ.
This year, all our schools are blessed to enrich our friendship with Jesus through a beautiful partnership with the Dominican Sisters Mary Mother of the Eucharist. In a nutshell, using the resource Echoing the Mystery, the Sisters are training and walking with all of our religion teachers to help them reflect upon their own loving relationship with Jesus in their hearts. They are also helping them grow in knowledge about God’s loving plan for everyone centered in the person of Jesus Christ, and then to echo this loving personal relationship and knowledge to their students.
If you want to learn more about this awesome partnership with Dominican Sisters, the link below explains it more fully.

Students in our Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Marquette have been busy learning in their classrooms.
Our parish schools are currently transitioning into a new Catholic curriculum. In 2014, Bishop John Doerfler approved the Foundations Document for the Catholic School Curriculum of the Diocese of Marquette. Click here to view.
