Holy Name students not afraid to display faith
1/15/2010

Faith on display - Students and faculty at Holy Name Catholic School formed a design of a Christmas tree in November 2009 as they sat together in the school gymnasium. This special photograph was printed on a postcard that went out to students' families for Christmas. It has become a tradition at Holy Name to do a special design for the postcard every year. In the photo, the middle school students are in white, while the remaining students and faculty members are wearing "The Shirt," a black t-shirt (black in honor of The Year of The Priest) with logos signifying the three times the students pray together at school every day. This photo was taken after Convocation in which the entire student body and faculty gather every morning to pray together. The students also pray the Angelus prayer in mid-day, and another final prayer at the end of the school day.

For Catholic Schools Week, Holy Name Catholic School, 409 S. 22nd Street, Escanaba, will host its Crusader Breakfast on Sunday, Jan. 31st to kick off Catholic Schools Week. Holy Name will also host the Diocesan Catholic Schools Religion Bee at the school on Wed., Feb. 3; the bee will feature pizza for the students at 12:30 p.m. EST, with the Bee starting at 1 p.m.
