DIOCESAN DAY OF CONSECRATED LIFE
Our brothers and sisters in Christ living consecrated lives make great contributions to our society, our diocese, our parishes and our parishioners. In light of this, I am establishing a Diocesan Day of Consecrated Life to be observed on the 2nd Sunday of November each year. I welcome you and your parishioners to join me in celebrating the lives of these men and women who serve in many capacities and have dedicated their lives to contemplative prayer, teaching in our schools, taking care of the poor and the sick and bringing compassion and the love of Christ to those shunned by society.
Your observance on November 8, 2015, of this Diocesan Day of Consecrated Life in your parish(es) may include the “Prayer for the Year of Consecrated Life”, a focus on consecrated life in your homily, promoting vocations to consecrated life and honoring women religious and others who live a consecrated life who serve in your parish(es). The November 13th issue of the U.P. Catholic Newspaper will also feature our women religious and a focus on the work they do here in the diocese.
Prayer intentions, prayer cards, a video on consecrated life and other resources are available by clicking here.
SEXUAL ABUSE OF MINORS BY CHURCH OFFICIALS OR VOLUNTEERS
Article 2 of the U.S. Bishops’ Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People calls for periodic public announcements of the procedures for making a complaint of sexual abuse of minors. This is to help promote healing and reconciliation with victims/survivors of abuse. To facilitate this, please print the Sexual Abuse of a Minor by Church Officials or Volunteers announcement (found in the Bulletin Announcements section) in your parish bulletin. Please use this particular announcement and not earlier versions, because the contact information has changed. Thank you.
OFFICE OF THE CHANCELLOR AND DIVINE WORSHIP
Rev. Daniel Moll
Please note: As a result of the recent shift in duties, all announcements regarding upcoming local and national collections can now be found under the Administration & Finance Section of the Communicator.

Beginning on Monday, Sept 21st, they will be uploaded on every Monday for the next week’s bulletin. The text, video and audio will be included on the website for each reflection. Workshop participants will be equipped to reach out to youth and families who are away from Church practice, while at the same time providing focused efforts of discipleship building, for those ready to be witnesses and leaders for the New Evangelization. The day begins with registration at 8:30 AM, and is followed by the workshop from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. To register go to the diocesan webpage www.dioceseofmarquette.org and click on the compass located on the top left side of the page. Please register no later than Tuesday September 15. This year, the Church will celebrate Catechetical Sunday on September 20, 2015, and will focus on the theme "Safeguarding the Dignity of Every Human Person." Those whom the community has designated to serve as catechists will be called forth to be commissioned for their ministry. Catechetical Sunday is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the role that each person plays, by virtue of Baptism, in handing on the faith and being a witness to the Gospel. Catechetical Sunday is an opportunity for all to rededicate themselves to this mission as a community of faith. The USCCB is providing resources, both downloadable and for purchase. You can access this by clicking here.
