“OUR FAITH IN THE FUTURE” DIOCESAN-WIDE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
CAMPAIGN DRAWS TO A CLOSE
The 4-year pledge redemption period is drawing to a close for most people who invested in this 2010 diocesan-wide capital campaign. At this time, nearly $8.5 million has been collected and distributed from the “Good Faith Effort” parishes. Six parishes conducted the “piggyback” campaign option, raising even more money for direct parish needs. The dollar impact for the “piggyback” parishes was about $3 million. In all, $11.5 million has been contributed to restore our beautiful churches, improve our Catholic schools, and enhance the Legacy of Faith grant making program. This is a tremendous show of stewardship of the Church!
DIOCESE WILL CONTINUE PLEDGE REDEMPTION AND DISTRIBUTION SERVICES
The diocese will continue pledge redemption services for donors who still have active pledge balances. Some people may have fallen behind in their payments but want to fulfill their initial commitment and are actively paying on an extended payment schedule. Two parishes ran late campaigns and just finished up 3 years of pledge redemption, with one more year to go. The diocese will continue to provide pledge redemption services throughout 2015, to enable these donors to complete their pledge commitments.
The diocese will also continue to distribute monies collected to parishes and schools for each quarter that donations are received.
IT'S TIME TO SUMMARIZE YOUR CAMPAIGN PROJECTS
Now is a great time to give your parish and school families a summary of everything that was accomplished. We hope that parishes and schools have been reporting all along as your campaign projects have been implemented. The timing of this communication to your parishioners will help to draw closure to the campaign and provide an overall summary. Your donors have faithfully and diligently paid on their pledges for four years, and are anxious to know that their investment has made a positive impact. Since the campaign is drawing to a close for most donors, now would be a good time to summarize for your people everything that has been done at your parish/school. In addition, please include with your parish summary the information below, to report on things that were accomplished beyond your parish/school borders. This will help to give a more complete picture of capital campaign gifts at work over the past four years.
As of Dec 31, 2014, nearly $8.5 million has been collected and distributed from the “Good Faith Effort” parishes. The monies have been distributed as follows:
Parishes $3.2 million
Catholic Schools $1.4 million
Legacy of Faith $1.4 million
UPCSA (Yr 1 only) $1.9 million
Campaign Fees $0.6 million
6 “Piggyback” parish
Campaigns $3 million
Total Impact $11.5 million
REMINDER TO FOLLOW DIOCESAN BUILDING CONSTRUCTION POLICY
As a reminder, expenditure of capital campaign funds needs to be on items that were included in your parish and school campaign case statement. If your project involves construction, please follow the diocesan “Building Construction Policy” http://bit.ly/1vvSLTD.
